April 1814 Writ of Venire

To the Judges of the Court within named, I do return that I have Summoned
twenty four good and Lawful men of my County whose names here follow and
the rest of the orders I followed as directed 1 Andre Fagot Arkansas Com. Pleas Territory of Missouri The united states of America to the Sheriff of the County of Arkansas Greeting. We command you to Cause to come before our Judges assigned to keep the peace, and to hear and determine divers felonies Trespasses and other misdemeanors in the said County Committed., at a Court of Common Pleas to be holden at the Town of Arkansas in & for the County of Arkansas on the first Monday in april next Twenty four Good and Lawfull men of your County to enquire and present on behalf of the United States for the body of the County of Arkansas and to do & perform all and singular those things which shall then and there be enjoined them by the Law of the Country also give notice to the several Justices of the peace & Coroners of said County to be then and there with their Records Roles and Recognisances and other remenstrances that the Court may proceed thereon and have you then there this Writ Witness Patrick Cassidy Clerk of the said Court of Common Pleas at the
Town of Arkansas the twenty second day of march in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and fourteen and of the Independence of the
United States the thirty eighth |
