April Term of the Superior Court of the Territory of Arkansas A.D. 1828

And the said Defendant Cotton by his attorney comes and defends the wrong and injury when &c. and says that the said plaintiff ought not to have or maintain his aforesaid action thereof against them him because they he says that they he the said Defendant to wit on the sixth day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty Seven and on the sixth day of February eighteen hundred and twenty six and on the sixth day of February eighteen hundred and twenty four, to wit: in the Territory of Arkansas and within the jurisdiction of this Court fully paid the said plaintiff the three several sums of money mentioned in the his Declaration at the time and on the days above written last aforesaid and the full amount thereof and all interest due on said several sums of money to said last mentioned date and this they are he is ready to verify–Wherefore they he pray judgment if the said plaintiff ought to have or maintain his aforesaid action thereof against them &c him

And the said plaintiff comes and says that as to any thing alleged by the said Defendant in his said plea above pleaded he ought not to be barred from having and maintaining his aforesaid action thereof against him because he says [missing]
