United States vs } Present Lemmons A True Bill 1828 Octr. Term United States of America In the superior court for said Territory to October term 1828 The grand Jurors of the United States impannelled sworn and charged to enquire in and for the body of the Territory aforesaid upon their oaths present that James Lemmons late of the county of Pulaski in said Territory on the thirteenth day of October in the year of christ one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight with force and arms within the county of Pulaski aforesaid then and there did set up a certain table commonly called a faro bank and at which said Table then and there was played a game of chance for money contrary of the form of the statute in sutch case made and provided and the Jurors aforesaid upon there oaths aforesaid do further present and say that the said James Lemmons late of the county of Pulaski in the Territory aforesaid Gentleman on the thirteenth day of October in the year of [Image of page 3] christ one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight with force and arms within the said county of Pulaski then and there did keep a table commonly called a faro bank and then and there unlawfully did permit certain persons to the Jurors aforesaid unknown to bet a great sum of money against said Bank to wit the sum of one dollar contrary to the form of the statute in sutch case made and provided Thomas Hubbard Pros.
